“Emmanuel Variations” by Thomas Juzwiak, ASCAP
Composer's note: “Emmanuel Variations” and is a theme and variation on the old tune “O Come O Come Emmanuel”. It is arranged for full band and is of medium difficulty. All clarinets go over the break. There is some quick, technical playing that needs to be done.
After a short intro the theme is introduced by a trumpet solo backed by a brass choir. Soon the tempo changes and the piece goes through several variations and key changes. It ends with the full ensemble playing the main theme.
