"For The Winners" by Amy Webb
This piece is entitled, "For the Winners". It is a concert march for high school band students playing at a 3 level. This piece will interest both educators and students alike due to its educational aspects and interesting and catchy melodic lines.
"For the Winners" is a fun, educational march inspired by my love of the works of Karl King and R. B. Hall. Written in the key of concert F and transitioning to B-flat, "For the Winners" allows every member of the band a change to show off their unique personalities; every part is interesting to play, and nobody sits on a note for very long (not even the tubas, for which they will be grateful)! Be prepared to recall fingerings for everything from G# to D-flat, and your piccolo will spend some quality time in the practice room, working on the challenging runs!
