Composer's Note:
The other day on my home town’s Face Book page someone was commenting on the train whistles that everybody in town could hear. We had a train stop downtown and the line took you through Newark then New York City. She then posed the question:
“What other sound(s) do you remember from your childhood growing up in town”. The response was huge! As I was reading through the many responses I could not help but be taken back to that time. Many of the sounds mentioned had left my mind. Recalling them was refreshing.
“Forgotten Yesterdays” is the product of that experience. A very lyrical, melancholy piece, the melodies and harmonies invite any listener to reflect upon their younger days.
Suitable for advanced middle school, high school and above...this new and original composition will delight the performers and audience alike. Enjoy!
