"Hot Fudge Sundae" by Amy Webb
Hot Fudge Sundae is written in the key of concert B-flat, which is easily accessible to 5-8th graders and the ranges for all of the instruments is very comfortable, with the trumpets going no higher than third space C. However, students must be on the lookout for accidentals—flutes, for example, will get to work on the G-flat/F-sharp and clarinets will have to recall the fingering for middle C-sharp! The piece gives your talented snare drummer some “chocolatey” rhythms to keep them occupied and your bells player will get to show off his/her chord playing skills on this fun piece.
