Composers note: "“Quiet Reflections” was inspired by a lunch I had a couple months ago with the man who started me on trumpet when I was in the 5th grade. He casually mentioned that we had known each other for 50 years!! This made me very nostalgic as I reflected through my life. It is true what they say, it all goes by so very quickly.
“Quiet Reflections” is a medium level piece with many time changes. It starts with the main theme in 7/4 time and is re visited throughout the piece. Lush harmonies help this piece along as the ending represents the throwing of a rock into a lake or pond and the “ripple effect” takes place."
