Composer's note: “Ramatis” is a quasi latin type of a song. The use of claves and tambourine give it this feel. The fast part is book ended by slow parts, but once the tempo speeds up the instruments keep layering and layering. Plenty of percussion.
Most definitely a high school level piece, because of the instrumentation, ranges, and very detailed articulations. Advancing bands are sure to enjoy and draw audience approval with this bold original piece by Thomas Juzwiak. This work celebrates being alive and captures moments of intense joy and contemplation. The overall mood emphasizes the feeling we experience when overcome by an all-encompassing joy as if all of nature is celebrating with us.
