“Talos” is a Medieval sounding piece that evokes the stories of King Arthur and his Knights. The beginning gives the illusion of a fog and as the composition progresses you can imagine Arthur and his Knights on their horses entering the fabled city of Camelot. The use of 16th notes in the woodwinds keep the music flowing. As the song comes to an end you hear the theme from the beginning as the Knights disappear into the fog from which they first came. All of this is done without the use of a fanfare. The parts are spread out to give each section a chance to shine. Perfect for middle school level bands, “Talos” is a great number to be used as the concert feature.
