Composer's Note:
“Dedicated to the tragic shooting at and loss of life at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, TX. lthough written in direct response to this horrific event, the piece represents all the loss of life throughout all the school shootings our country. Originally written for full concert band I felt it was too grand. The percussion did not seem to fit the “mood”. I tried several smaller ensembles such as quartets and quintets but I couldn’t say what I needed to say. Finally I decided on a Woodwind Choir."
