"Band Battle" by Janelle Zook Cunalata
“Band Battle” promotes friendly competition as well as cooperation between the woodwind, brass, and percussion sections of the band. The “competition” is centered on an easy, narrow-‐ranged melody that is played with during the course of the piece. The melody is made fun and interesting by dynamic changes, articulation variations, and augmentation of the melody in the very end. It is certain your students will enjoy the friendly competition and cooperation among the different sections of the band while having a “Band Battle”.
