"Hymn For Band" by Thomas Juzwiak
Hymn for Band was written for the emerging middle school band where detail to teaching rhythmic detail is replaced by phrasing, contouring, and intonation. As a slower piece Hymn for Band is meant to teach the beginnings of real musicality. Helping the student to understand his or her “place” in the much larger whole composition. A tuneful melody will stick in the players head.
