“Shanty Silhouettes”

Jeffery Eastman’s “Shanty Silhouettes” is the third installment of band compositions based on the 18th and 19th Century whaling or shanty tunes. A solo flute and trumpet trio commence with “Blow The Wind Southerly”. Next Clarinets and percussion march on to “Whaling in Greenland” and “Captain Ward The Pirate”. The final, “Bonnie Laddie”, driven by the low brass, percussion and scampering woodwind scales which leads to a concluding brass chorale. This is a great selection for your next concert opener.
